Berry Men’s Shed Inc. is located on our property. Its official address is 146 North Street, Berry. BMS is open on Tuesday and Thursday each week from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm. Call 4464 3956. Berry Men's Shed Inc. was established in 2005 by Berry Uniting Church in response to a perceived need in the Shoalhaven for men and women who had recently retired, to share in meaningful community projects that benefit themselves and the community. The Shed's aim is to improve members’ sense of self worth, and their practical and interpersonal skills, while contributing to the community. Members work in a fully mechanised wood and metal workshop and are committed to work on community projects, tasks to advance the purpose of the shed and their own personal projects. Most elect to work only on community or Shed projects. The Shed has a non-discriminatory policy, welcoming men and women of any age and ability. There is an annual membership fee of $35.00 for active members and $25 for associate members, plus $2.00 each day of attendance, which covers the cost of morning & afternoon tea.
We also support the activities of Rural Australians for Refugees Shoalhaven #StopTheShame, Nowra, a group advocating for changes to the government policies for asylum seekers and refugees. See #StopTheShame’s face book page at: https://www.facebook.com/shoalhavencommunityaction
